Trips and Events

Although the children and teenagers living in the Omaruru Children‘s Haven have a very structured life which revolves around school and “Study Time”, it is also important to put aside time to escape from day to day life and experience something else.

Our volunteers put a lot of effort and love into organizing little events like fashion shows, discos, sundowners or trips to a swimming pool.

Especially in the holidays we also try to organise bigger trips which should be both fun and educational. In the past we have, for example, gone on weekend trips to Windhoek and Swakopmund, where we visited museums, ate pizza and explored the surroundings. In this way the children and teenagers living in the Haven, aside from having fun, also learn something about Namibia’s culture, traditions, history, flora and fauna.
